Static codes can't be switched off
A static code encodes your data directly in the image. It does not phone home to any account, so no lapsed plan or trial can deactivate it. It works as long as the link behind it does.

If your link will change
One thing does need a free account: a dynamic QR code. A dynamic code is a short link you can re-point after printing, and it logs scans by day, country, and device. Making one requires signing in so the redirect can be tied to you — that is the only account on the site. Two dynamic codes are free. If you ever stop paying, they keep redirecting anyway, with no ads or interstitials, per the Qranite policy. If you only need a plain code, skip this entirely — the generator above asks for nothing.

Why do other generators ask me to sign up?
Usually to collect an email and to route your code through their servers, which lets them add scan limits or expiry later. Codes made in the browser can't be metered or switched off, so there is no account to create.
