Restaurant menu QR code generator
A menu QR code takes diners from a table tent to your menu in one scan. Paste your menu's web address below, style it, and download a print-ready code. It's free, needs no account, and never expires — because it's generated in your browser, not on our servers.

01
Paste your menu link
Enter the full URL of your menu page or hosted PDF, including https://. Scan it once yourself to confirm it loads on a phone.
02
Style it for your tables
Add your logo, match your brand colors, round the dots. All free. Keep the code darker than the background — scanners read contrast, not taste.
03
Download and print
SVG scales cleanly to any size — table tents, window decals, A-frames. PNG up to 4096px covers everything else. Print as many as you have tables.
Worth knowing
Laminate everything
Table tents meet ketchup, condensation, and sanitizer several times a day. A laminated code scans for years. A soggy one doesn't.
Link to a fast mobile page
Diners scan on phones, often on weak WiFi. A lightweight mobile menu page beats a 20MB PDF. If you must use a PDF, compress it first — see our PDF QR code page.
Test at table height
Print at least 3cm square and scan it from a seated position before ordering 40 table tents. If your phone reads it in dim light, dinner service will be fine.
If your link will change
Menus change. Prices change more. With a static code, a new menu URL means reprinting every table tent — and laminated tents aren't cheap. A dynamic QR code is a short link you can re-point anytime, so the printed code outlives the menu behind it. You also see scans by day, country, and device. Two dynamic codes are free, and unlike some alternatives, ours don't get switched off: QR Tiger's free dynamic codes stop after 500 scans each, per their pricing page — roughly one busy weekend. And qr-code-generator.com deactivates trial codes after 14 days and redirects scans to an upsell page, per their docs — which has killed plenty of printed menus. The Qranite policy is simpler: even if you stop paying, your codes keep redirecting forever.
About dynamic codesCommon questions
Does a free menu QR code expire?
Not here. A static code encodes your menu URL directly in the image, so nothing depends on our servers. It works as long as your menu page stays online. No scan limits, no trial countdown, no watermark.
What should the QR code link to?
A fast mobile-friendly menu page is best. A compressed PDF works too. Avoid your homepage — diners want the menu, not a hero banner. Whatever you link, load it on a phone over cellular before printing.
What happens when I update my menu?
If the URL stays the same, nothing — update the page and every printed code shows the new menu. If the URL changes, a static code needs reprinting. A dynamic code can be re-pointed without touching the print.
Why did my old menu QR code stop working?
Almost always an expired trial or a lapsed plan at another generator. qr-code-generator.com deactivates trial codes after 14 days, and QR Tiger stops all dynamic codes if your plan lapses, per their own policies. Static codes made anywhere can't expire. Our guide on why QR codes stop working covers the other causes.
How big should a table tent QR code be?
At least 2x2cm for arm's-length scanning; 3-4cm is safer in dim dining rooms. Leave a white margin around the code. Download the SVG and your printer can scale it without losing sharpness.
